JobShifu Terms of Service

The short version. JobShifu helps you tailor resumes, find jobs, and fill out applications faster. It's an assistant, not an autopilot: you review and approve what it produces, and you're responsible for what you submit to employers. We can't guarantee you a job or an interview. Be honest, follow the law and the sites you apply on, and pay for the plan you use. You can cancel any time.

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a binding agreement between you and [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] ("JobShifu", "we", "us"). By creating an account, installing the browser extension, or using the JobShifu website or apps (together, the "Service"), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Who can use JobShifu

You must be at least 18 years old and able to form a binding contract. You may use the Service only for your own job search, and you're responsible for everything that happens under your account.

2. What JobShifu does — and doesn't

The Service tailors resumes and cover letters from the career information you provide, helps you discover job postings, and assists you in completing job applications (including on-page autofill through the browser extension).
JobShifu is designed not to fabricate content: tailored resume lines are built from sources you have confirmed in your vault. This is a safeguard, not a guarantee of perfection — you must review every document, answer, and field before you submit it. You are solely responsible for the accuracy and honesty of your applications.
We do not guarantee any outcome — no job, interview, response, or result of any kind. AI-generated output may contain errors or omissions.
The Service does not provide legal, financial, immigration, or career-counseling advice.

3. Your account

Keep your login credentials secure and don't share your account. Tell us promptly at support@jobshifu.com if you suspect unauthorized use. You're responsible for activity under your account to the extent permitted by law.

4. Plans, billing, and refunds

Free and paid plans. Some features are free within usage limits; others require a paid subscription or pass. Current prices and limits are shown in the app at the point of purchase.
Billing. Web payments are processed by Stripe; mobile purchases are processed by Apple or Google. By subscribing you authorize recurring charges until you cancel.
Auto-renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price unless you cancel before the renewal date.
Cancellation. You can cancel any time from Settings (or the app store that sold you the subscription); access continues until the end of the paid period.
Refunds. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable and partial periods are not pro-rated. Mobile purchases are refunded under Apple's or Google's policies. [CONFIRM refund policy with counsel — some jurisdictions grant a statutory withdrawal/cooling-off right.]
Changes. We may change prices or plan limits prospectively; we'll give notice before a change affects your next renewal.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Use the Service to create false, misleading, or fraudulent statements in a job application, or to misrepresent your identity, experience, or qualifications.
Violate the terms of use of any third-party website or applicant-tracking system you apply through, or use the autofill/automation features to send bulk or spam applications in a way those sites prohibit.
Reverse engineer, scrape, resell, or build a competing product from the Service; circumvent usage limits, rate limits, or plan gating; or probe or attack our systems.
Upload content you don't have the right to use, or anything unlawful, infringing, or malicious.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

6. Your content

You keep ownership of the resumes, work history, answers, documents, and other career information you put into JobShifu ("Your Content"). You grant us a limited, non-exclusive license to store and process Your Content solely to operate and improve the Service for you, as described in the Privacy Policy. To power AI features, relevant parts of Your Content are sent to our AI provider (Anthropic) as a service provider. We do not claim ownership of Your Content, and you can erase it at any time (Settings → "Erase all data").

7. Third-party services and sites

The Service links to and interacts with third-party websites, job boards, applicant-tracking systems, and providers (including Supabase, Anthropic, Stripe, Apple, and Google). We don't control those services and aren't responsible for their content, availability, or practices; your use of them is governed by their terms.

8. Our intellectual property

The Service — including its software, design, and content we create — is owned by [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service under these Terms. All rights not expressly granted are reserved.

9. Disclaimers

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its output will be accurate, complete, or suitable for any application. You use AI-generated content at your own discretion and risk.

10. Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, JOBSHIFU AND ITS SUPPLIERS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOST OPPORTUNITIES, JOBS, PROFITS, OR DATA, ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM OR USD $50. Some jurisdictions don't allow these limits, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless [LEGAL ENTITY NAME] from claims and expenses arising out of your misuse of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or content you submit to employers through the Service, to the extent permitted by law.

12. Termination

You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity) survive termination.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll notify you in the app or by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated Terms.

14. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of [GOVERNING LAW — e.g., State of Delaware, USA], without regard to conflict-of-laws rules. [DISPUTE-RESOLUTION MECHANISM — confirm with counsel: courts of [VENUE], or binding arbitration + class-action waiver where enforceable.] Nothing here waives any consumer-protection rights you have under the mandatory law of your country of residence.
